Maksym Yali, Professor of International Relations at the National Aviation University in Kyiv, provides a personal perspective on Ukrainian identity having grown up in Mariupol with a large Russian-speaking population and close to the Russian border. This is a fascinating episode! I learnt so much about the complexities of Ukrainian national identity and how it has changed since the breakdown of the Soviet Union.
